Tree Planting at Bellemeade/Oak Grove Elementary School

Following the construction of the Bellemeade/Oak Grove Elementary School, four very large oak trees in a parking median between the school and Bellemeade Community Center needed to be replaced.  Thanks to Scott Turner of TrueTimber,  Groundwork RVA crews from George Wythe High School and Open High, and Richmond Tree Stewards new trees are now in the ground!

Scott Turner of TrueTimber provided an instructions on proper planting, the Groundwork RVA crews did the planting, and Tree Stewards provided the trees through a grant from the Overton and Katherine Dennis Foundation

The new trees  (tulip poplars and Princeton elms) will provide shade and reduce water run off  for many years to come and will add to the diversity plantings on the property.
